The Colombian Amazon is home to thousands of indigenous people groups in need of God’s Word. Drug-trafficking and the armed militia threaten to take over their land. Their government refrains from stepping in to help due to corruption that has infiltrated many areas of Colombian politics. Indigenous believers are most vulnerable to persecution, not only from outside their community, but from within. Fathers turn against their sons, sons against their fathers, their division beginning when one of them chooses to abandon shamanistic beliefs to follow the path of Jesus.
Local missionaries have seen the immense need for God’s Word in audio format to strengthen these oral-based communities. Pinwin has been working with indigenous leaders since 2019 and has seen the impact of digital materials within these communities. Audio Bibles allow for deeper discipleship and deeply rooted Christian believers amongst the many people groups living in this area of Colombia. Digital Bible Society has developed relationships with Pinwin and its missionaries to provide audio Bibles that will keep our indigenous brothers and sisters on the path of Life.
