1,000 Audio Bible Players Distributed in India

Thanks to you, 1,000 Mini Pearl audio Bible players were recently distributed in northern India! Reports are already flooding in about the impact this is having on believers and non-believers in the area.

UPDATE FROM KUMAR, ONE OF OUR DISTRIBUTION PARTNERS:

“We praise God for Digital Bible Society and for the wonderful gift of audio Bibles to our community in northern India. After receiving the audio Bibles, preachers all over our area began to distribute them. We mostly gave them to non-believers and illiterate people. Many of these people have requested audio Bibles for their relatives and neighbors! Audio Bibles are helping us spread the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ faster than any other means. Both believers and non-believers are getting the privilege to listen to God’s Word in our own dialect. Through this ministry, many have confessed their sins and been baptized. We thank God for what He is doing through you in our community. May God bless you!”

DEEPAK’S STORY:

32-year-old Deepak works hard as a mason’s helper in northern India. The wages are small each day, but Deepak is grateful for the work. He and his wife have three young children at home.

This past December, while Deepak was working, a pastor stopped by and chatted with him. Noting his curiosity about faith, the pastor pressed an audio Bible into Deepak’s hands. “This is God’s Word in our own dialect,” the pastor said. Deepak regularly worshipped more than 30 gods and goddesses. He wondered which god these words were from. Nevertheless, Deepak was excited to listen to the words since they were in his dialect. (Thousands of languages and dialects are spoken in India each day, so it was special to have an audio recording in his heart language!)

Deepak was so interested in and moved by the Scriptures that he requested more audio Bibles to give to his neighbors. So, this week, the same pastor visited Deepak, handing him several more audio Bibles to give to his neighbors! Deepak continues to listen to God’s Word, but is not yet a believer. When asked, Deepak said he needs more time to think before committing his life to Christ.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, we pray earnestly for Deepak. May he not wait any longer, but turn to Jesus for salvation today. Our prayer is that he be filled with the Holy Spirit. May his life be so transformed by you that his wife, children, and neighbors are amazed and want to follow you, too. We pray for generational blessing upon Deepak and his family in the name of Jesus.
